Acne. The other four letter word.
We all get pimples at some point in our life. If you are one of the lucky ones, pimples are few and far between and something you get to grow out of. However, some of us have to constantly suffer with breakouts that are both painful and embarrassing.
With so many options on the market, geared to so many different skin types and ailments, it can sometimes get overwhelming on choosing the right product for your issue.
Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam

Clinique Labratories is a well established manufacturer owned by the Estee Lauder Corporation. It’s been around since 1968, and it focuses primarily on make up and skin care which is:
- fragrance free
- dermatologist and allergy tested
- designed to address individual skin types
The consistency of the foam is very light and watery. Initially, I was worried that it wouldn’t cover the skin very well, but it seemed to lather on the skin just fine. There is a slight alcohol smell while it’s on the skin, but the smell doesn’t linger after rinsing. The cleanser rinses clean without any soapy residue left behind.
Many people have had great success using this product. The internet is full of positive reviews by people, with all sorts of skin types, who use it on a daily basis.
For the first week, I noticed that my breakouts had slowed down and the inflammation and redness seemed to lessen a bit:
However, the formula created a new problem for me – my skin was drying out. Moisturizer helped, but it seemed to stop the product from working as well. After a month, I stopped getting as many painful cysts, but the acne also seemed to be spreading further away from my chin.
I think that if I were to use the Clinique line again, I would spend the extra money to get the 3- step kit. I feel like the biggest stumble I had with this product was that the cleanser and moisturizer weren’t designed to work with each other. The 3-piece kit comes with products that compliment each other and are tailored for individual skin types.
Should you choose to buy this line, please take advantage of the “Skin Diagnostic” Tool that they offer on their website. It will provide you with a better idea of what product line is best for your skin type. I would also recommend that you keep your eyes open for promotional bonus offers. Many retailers that sell the brand, as well as the Clinique website, offers bonuses for purchases made.
Despite the fact that this product did not completely clear my skin, my research and past experiences with this skin care line is overall positive. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
